Contact us
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Everything reaches us at one address: [email protected]. There is no ticket system to navigate and no phone queue — instatools is an online service with no physical retail location, so email is the way in.
We read every message. The sections below explain what to include for each kind of request, because a message with the right details gets resolved on the first reply instead of the third.
A tool is not working
Before writing in, it is worth checking the two causes behind most failures:
- The account is private. If the account has not accepted you as a follower, its content cannot be retrieved — by us or by any other tool. This is not a bug we can fix.
- You used the wrong input type. Our tools are deliberately different from each other. The Story, profile picture, and bio tools take a username. The Reels and video tools take a link. Pasting a link into a username box will fail.
If neither applies, send us:
- Which tool you were using (the page URL is ideal)
- What you entered — the public link or username. Please do not send passwords; we will never ask for one
- What happened, and what you expected instead
- Your device and browser, e.g. "iPhone, Safari" or "Windows, Chrome"
Instagram changes how it serves content fairly often, and those changes are the usual cause of a tool that worked last week and does not today. Reports like yours are how we find out quickly.
Copyright and takedown requests
If you are a rights holder and want to raise a concern about content retrieved through this site, email us with the subject line "Takedown request".
One thing that helps set expectations: we do not host, store, or archive any Instagram content. Our tools retrieve publicly available media in real time and pass it to the person who requested it. There is no copy on our servers to remove, and no library of downloaded files.
That said, we would rather hear from you than not. Please include:
- Identification of the work concerned, and the Instagram URL where it appears
- Your relationship to the work — creator, rights holder, or authorised agent
- Your contact details
- A statement that you believe the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law
Because the content itself lives on Instagram, a report to Instagram directly is usually the faster route to having it removed at the source.
Privacy requests
To exercise data rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA — access, correction, deletion, or opting out of the sharing of personal information — email us with the subject line "Privacy request" and tell us which right you are exercising.
Worth knowing first: we do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email to use the tools, and we do not store the media you download. In practice there is usually far less data about you than people expect. The specifics are in our Privacy Policy.
Translation corrections
instatools is published in 14 languages. If you are a native speaker and something reads awkwardly, we genuinely want to know — tell us the page URL and the wording you would use instead. Corrections from native speakers are the most useful messages we receive.
What we cannot help with
To save you the wait for a reply that cannot help:
- Instagram account problems — logins, bans, suspensions, disabled accounts, or recovery. We have no connection to Instagram and no access to any account. Contact Instagram support.
- Accessing a private account you do not follow. It is not a limitation we can lift.
- Recovering deleted content. Once it is removed from Instagram, there is nothing to retrieve.
- Anything requiring your Instagram password. We will never ask for it, and you should never send it — to us or to anyone else.
instatools is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. More about who we are and how the tools work is on our about page.
