How it works

This tool works with public Instagram Reels and video posts. Paste the link and our server fetches the video for you — that part happens server-side because Instagram doesn't let a browser load its videos directly. From there, everything else happens on your own device: your browser reads the video, pulls out the audio track, and encodes it as an MP3 at 128 kbps using a small in-page audio worker. The video file itself is never saved on our end; you're left with a preview player and a "Download MP3" button.

Copy the Reel link. In the Instagram app, open the Reel or video post, tap Share, then Copy link.
Paste it here. Paste the link into the box above and tap "Get audio."
We fetch, your browser converts. Our server fetches the video, then your own browser pulls out the audio and encodes it as an MP3.
Preview and download. Play the preview, then tap "Download MP3." On iPhone it lands in the Files app's Downloads folder; on Android it goes to your Downloads folder.

Audio quality: why 128 kbps, not 320

Plenty of "Instagram reels to mp3" tools advertise 320 kbps output. Here's the part they leave out: Instagram compresses a Reel's audio when it's uploaded, typically to somewhere around 128 kbps AAC. That compression already happened before we ever see the file. Re-encoding that same audio into a 320 kbps MP3 doesn't restore detail that was thrown away — it just produces a bigger file with the same sound, and running it through a second lossy encoder can make it slightly worse, not better.

We convert to MP3 at 128 kbps on purpose, roughly matching what Instagram already delivered, so you get a smaller download instead of a number that looks impressive but doesn't reflect the actual source audio.

Copyright and fair use

Downloading a Reel's audio doesn't hand you any rights to it. Most Reels use music or sounds that belong to someone else — the original artist, a label, or another creator. Keeping a personal copy is generally fine: listening offline, figuring out a song's name, or referencing a clip later. Taking that same audio and reusing it in something you upload, monetize, or publish under your own name is a different situation, and it needs permission from whoever actually owns the rights. When in doubt, treat downloaded audio as something to enjoy privately, not to republish.
